Job summary

LU Service Corp. is seeking a Technician II, Construction & Maintenance (Gas Utility) to perform the full range of transmission system construction and maintenance tasks. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and valid Class A CDL.

You will investigate leaks, support safety procedures, may act as crew lead, operate company vehicles, and work in varying weather conditions. We offer a collaborative environment with a strong benefits package and professional

Responsibilities

  • Perform the full range of construction and maintenance on transmission systems and facilities.
  • Leak investigation and repair.
  • May perform duties of crew lead when needed.
  • Ensure safety procedures and vehicle/equipment inspections are followed.
  • Support other departments and work shifts, holidays, and weekends.

Purpose

Responsible for performing the full range of construction and maintenance activities on transmission systems and facilities. Perform such work as required by the company, regulator, safety procedures.

Accountabilities
  • All C&M Technician I responsibilities
  • Leak investigation and repair
  • May perform duties of crew lead, if needed
  • Construction order complete
  • Perform critical valve inspection
  • Perform stand-by, work shifts, holidays, weekends, emergency call out
  • Support other departments when needed
  • Service and construction helper
  • Must become familiar with the safety manual and work according to its intent while creating and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Responsible for the safe operation inspection of assigned company vehicles and equipment
  • Demonstrate support for and adhere to the company’s values, strategies, policies, and procedures and exhibits the core values of Liberty’s mission statement, customer service, safety, and the company’s code of conduct as an individual contributor and team member
  • Performs other job-related duties as required
Education and Experience
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in basic computer knowledge
  • Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have and maintain minimum Operator (OQs) and classroom training for the position
  • Must have and maintain a Competent Person Certificate
  • Requires active Class A CDL
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Must be physically able to stoop, bend, crawl, walk, climb ladders, and do heavy lifting as needed. Able to lift and carry materials up to 50lbs. Ability to occasionally ascend and descend stairs and ladders is required. Must also have keen senses of smell, hearing, vision, and color identification. Ability to work in all terrain and weather conditions as needed required.
