Purpose

This role is responsible for the management of the measurement system and field service for an assigned geographical area, as well as the coordination of the service technicians for work completeness. The role will manage the execution of key system protection and operation of the transmission/distribution system. The incumbent will work with Technicians to plan and assign their routes and grids for specific areas. Role will require knowledge of gas distribution system design, transmission systems, regulation, SCADA, leak detection, leak surveys, field service, and the GIS mapping system.

Accountabilities
  • Monitor and respond to autogenerated work orders
  • Monitor and respond to Plant Maintenance orders from maintenance plans
  • Create work orders for any necessary materials, and material returns for any unused stock
  • Assign work orders to personnel and monitor completion to ensure appropriate resourcing levels to ensure proper and timely completion
  • Manage execution of maintenance of regulator stations
  • Review SCADA for pressure issues reporting from points
  • Partnership with engineering on capital work for system improvements and reliability with distribution/transmission system
  • Complete all operating area compliance work on-time and identify issues.
  • Ensure appropriate actions are taken to maintain system equipment for the department
  • Coordinates team members to assist local operating team with Gas Control
  • Provides assistance to billing and gas control
  • Support and coordinate the timely execution customer generated work, leak calls, emergency work. Leak survey, meter reading, and billing generated investigations
  • Monitor the quality of work being performed by field technicians with site visits and ride-a-longs. Ensure training is being followed and standards are adhered
  • Ensure appropriate actions are taken to maintain all equipment for the department
  • Manage execution of key system protection and reliability programs (e.g., SCADA, Gas Control, etc.)
  • Provide oversight to Technicians, measurement technicians, and Contractors
  • Procure necessary parts for maintenance work on regulator stations and field work
  • Coordinate appropriate plans to train new personnel on regulation, service work safe practices and procedures
  • Monitor and assess team productivity to identify gaps or risks as the individual contributor or team level; raises risks to management attention if team performance is not sufficient to meet regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrates a high standard of safety and is willing & able to comply with all compliance and safety regulations and Company safety policies
  • Performs quality control checks on operating data, paperwork and survey classification investigation
  • Coordinates with Program Manager, Regulatory Compliance to ensure timely and complete reporting and appropriate preparation for any forthcoming regulation changes
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with Company policies; comply with NEGC policies, procedures and practices
  • Assists Engineering department in maintaining and improving company maps
  • Coordinate material lists and availability; check and update material lists and arrival dates as needed
  • Ensure team track and complete necessary work with proper documentation requirements
  • Complete and submit monthly reports as required (e.g., regulatory)
  • Accountable for approving invoices for work within operating budget (business dependent)
  • Maintains databases (leak survey, third party damage, encroachments)
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent: Advanced skills and knowledge within the Gas industry, involving the integration of theory and principles with organizational practices and precedents may serve as the equivalent for the absence of a degree
  • 5+ years of senior level responsibility in system protection and reliability preferred
  • Required to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL; Knowledge of Dig Track Program; Experience using GIS Mapping Systems
