You will work with supervisors, technicians, and teammates to ensure smooth workflow, perform routine maintenance, monitor quality, and contribute to process improvements. Shift flexibility and compliance with cannabis industry regulations are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience as a machine operator or in manufacturing is beneficial.
• Able to read and interpret technical documents and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and control machines according to procedures, start/stop/adjust and monitor during production.
• Monitor output to ensure quality and address defects or deviations.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and report malfunctions promptly.
• Follow safety protocols and report hazards to maintain a safe workplace.
• Track production schedules and communicate progress to supervisors.
• Troubleshoot minor machine issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain production records and complete reports as required.
• Collaborate with supervisors, QC, and maintenance for effective coordination.
• Contribute to process improvement to boost efficiency and quality.

JOB SUMMARY

The Packaging Associate II (Automation) primary responsibility is to operate and maintain various types of machines used in the production process. Your role is crucial in ensuring that machines function efficiently and safely to meet production targets while maintaining product quality. You will work closely with production supervisors, technicians, and other team members to ensure a smooth production workflow.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

• Operate and control machines according to established procedures and guidelines. This includes starting, stopping, adjusting, and monitoring machines during the production process
• Monitor production output to ensure products meet quality standards. Perform regular checks and inspections to identify defects or deviations from specifications and take appropriate actions to address them
• Conduct routine maintenance on machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts, to keep them in good working condition. Report any malfunctions or breakdowns to maintenance staff promptly
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery. Report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors and assist in maintaining a safe working environment
• Keep track of production schedules and targets. Report production progress and any issues affecting production efficiency to supervisors
• Identify and troubleshoot machine-related problems during production, making necessary adjustments or minor repairs to minimize downtime
• Maintain accurate records of machine operations, production output, and any maintenance performed. Complete production reports and other documentation as required
• Collaborate with other team members, such as production supervisors, quality control personnel, and maintenance staff, to ensure effective communication and coordination
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives, suggesting ideas to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality
• The equipment in use for this role could include a pill packaging line, pill sachet filler, edible packaging system, action pack unit, automated pre-roll machine, automated vape filler and various other packaging equipment and systems

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a machine operator or in a similar manufacturing environment is beneficial
• Familiarity with machine operation and basic maintenance tasks
• Basic understanding of production processes and quality control principles
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and work instructions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
• Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve minor technical issues
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends or overtime, as required
