Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an experienced diesel mechanic to repair and service heavy equipment and rental fleets.

The role emphasizes diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems, with a focus on Tier 4 engines and aftertreatment compatibility. The ideal candidate has at least two years of diesel repair experience, owns the necessary tools, and can work safely within Sunstate's standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with heavy construction equipment or rental equipment strongly preferred.
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, and EGR aftertreatment systems is preferred.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing equipment repairs.
• Must have the necessary tools you need to perform the scope of equipment repairs.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Intermediate understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
• Diesel laptop and welding experience is strongly preferred.
• Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs.

Position Requirements
