Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking mechanically inclined individuals to start a career in electronics manufacturing. You will learn hands-on in a supportive team environment, operating SMT equipment and following detailed procedures to assemble components.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Training is provided, with a 3:30pm-12am shift and opportunities to grow in a multi-billion dollar global company.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0–2 years manufacturing/production or mechanical experience preferred.
  • Technical training or hands-on mechanical experience is a plus.
  • No electronics manufacturing experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Operate automated manufacturing equipment such as solder paste printers, reflow ovens, inspection tools, and other machinery used in the SMT process.
  • Set up machines, load basic programs, and perform routine maintenance to keep production running smoothly.
  • Monitor production flow and perform basic inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving simple equipment or process issues with guidance from senior technicians or engineers.
  • Follow written instructions, diagrams, and standard operating procedures to support accurate component placement and assembly.
  • Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Work closely with team members to improve efficiency and processes over time.
  • Follow all company safety and quality policies.

Job Description

Are you mechanically inclined or tech-savvy and looking to build a career in electronics manufacturing? We’re seeking motivated individuals with basic mechanical or machine aptitude who are eager to learn and grow with hands‑on training—no prior SMT or electronics experience required!

Key Responsibilities

Experience / Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing, production, or mechanical environment preferred, but not required.
  • Technical training, mechanical coursework, or related hands‑on experience is a plus.
  • No prior experience in electronics manufacturing required training will be provided for candidates with the right aptitude.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Basic mechanical or machine operation aptitude (comfortable working with tools or machinery).
  • Willingness to learn technical processes and follow detailed instructions.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Schedule
  • 3:30pm-12am, Monday-Friday (10% shift differential when working this shift)
