Job summary

Smart City Networks in Miami, FL is seeking an entry-level IT Technician to support show and event networks on-site. You will assist with connecting networks, reading schematics, and maintaining cabling and hardware under supervision.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in telecom networking, customer service, and field support while working with a collaborative team. Travel may be required occasionally, and background checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Entry-level IT interest; no prior experience required.
• Strong customer service mindset and communication skills.
• Willing to travel occasionally and work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Interact with show and event customers to connect networks.
• Transform schematics/maps into functional networks.
• Monitor inventory and restock tools for on-site setups.
• Troubleshoot issues and assist with setup, maintenance, and teardown.
• Test copper and fiber connections using proper procedures.

The Smart City Technician is a fun, fast-paced, entry level role for an individual that is a customer service all-star who would like to enter the IT and telecom networking field.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

• Interacting with show and event customers to help connect their networks
• Taking show schematics/ maps and plans and transforming them into real-life, well connected networks
• Monitoring the inventory and restocking their cart to ensure they have all the tools needed for the customers set-up as planned
• Troubleshooting on the spot issues and pro-actively assisting customers with set-up, maintenance and take- down of installations by color coding and proper testing of copper and fiberoptic cables, installing jumpers and patch cables and providing other technical assistance as trained
