Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with plant equipment (drives, HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics).
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems (wiring, circuits, fuses, motors).
• Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment.
• Perform building maintenance (air conditioning, lights, forklifts).
• Make small repairs to prevent long-term downtime.
• Report food safety and quality issues to relevant personnel.
• Comply with food safety policies and procedures.

Job Purpose

Support the company’s maintenance program by focusing on plant equipment and building maintenance in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies and OSHA regulations. This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious, driven individual to learn the skills required to be a great maintenance technician.

Essential Functions

In this role you will learn and be excepted to:

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with plant equipment (e.g., mechanical drive systems, HVAC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems)
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems with plant equipment (e.g., wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, transformers, motors, and AC/DC motor drives)
• Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment
• Perform building maintenance and repairs (e.g., air conditioning, lights, forklifts)
• Perform small repairs on equipment to prevent long-term downtime until permanent repairs can be completed
• Report on food safety and quality issues to appropriate personnel
• Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Experience or willingness to learn pneumatics, and hydraulics
• Willing to learn and obtain boilers license and electrical maintenance license.
• Ability to accurately use and read a variety of measuring devices
• Well-rounded mechanical skills and experience
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical degree in a maintenance related field, MN Special Engineer Boiler License or higher, or refrigeration experience preferred
