Job summary

Rise Baking Company is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic in Utah to support the plant's maintenance program focused on equipment and building upkeep in compliance with food safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring safe, efficient operation in a fast-paced bakery environment. Requires a 2-year degree or 3+ years of equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in electronics/maintenance mechanics.
• 3+ years in a maintenance mechanic role.
• Experience with repair or preventive maintenance in hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, or electronics.
• Working knowledge of CMMS.
• Working knowledge of lockout/tagout programs.
• Working knowledge of boiler operations.
• Experience with ammonia, freon, or other cooling media.
• Ability to weld (stick or TIG) small repairs.
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to solve practical problems and work with varied variables.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Perform building maintenance and repairs (air conditioning, lights, forklifts).

• Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with plant equipment (e.g., mechanical drive systems, HVAC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems)


• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems with plant equipment (e.g., wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, transformers, motors, and AC/DC motor drives)


• Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment


• Perform building maintenance and repairs (e.g., air conditioning, lights, forklifts)


• Perform small repairs on equipment to prevent long-term downtime until permanent repairs can be completed


• Report food safety and quality issues to appropriate personnel


• Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures


• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

• 2-year degree in electronics/maintenance mechanics or 3+ years in maintenance mechanic role


• Experience with repair or preventive maintenance in hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, or electronics


• Working knowledge of CMMS


• Working knowledge of lockout/tagout programs


• Working knowledge of boiler operations


• Experience with ammonia, freon, or other cooling media


• Ability to stick or tig weld small repairs Intermediate computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office


• Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts to identify solutions


• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists


• Strong communication skills
