Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for reading blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: location, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Identify all tools required for tasks and identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using tools such as rules, conduit benders, Chicago Benders, dual trigger bandsaws.
  • Build electrical closets (mount and install backboards).
  • Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required.
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Fabricate and install rigid & aluminum, EMT, plasti-bond, and PVC conduit.
  • Use mechanical benders and hydraulic benders (1 1/2" – 4") and fabricate and install conduit supports.
  • Install various types of raceway and cable tray systems.
  • Assume responsibility for effective performance of crew, provide necessary training, coordinate personnel and timeline to complete projects.
  • Fully complete all IES paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, and others as required).
  • Adhere to and participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Self‑motivated, positive approach, professional, and able to develop and implement project process improvements.
  • Must be accustomed to climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions.
  • Promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.
  • Act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s).
  • Possess proven problem‑solving, critical thinking, and effective written and oral presentation skills.
  • Work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces; lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
  • Travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory.
Tools
  • Screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight, and gloves.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Zero to two (0-2) years of experience as an electrician or related technical field and ability to supervise others.
  • Proficiency with the listed tools.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
  • Meet Company minimum driving standards.
