Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a production associate in Ohio to support all general production activities and set up equipment for production. You will monitor filling processes, assist with packaging, and maintain a clean, safe work environment while following HACCP/SSOP guidelines.

The role requires the ability to operate forklifts, tow motors, and other powered equipment, with flexibility for weekends and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of manufacturing experience preferred, food manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to operate toward safety and HACCP/SSOP guidelines.

Job description

• Support all general production activities
• Set equipment up for production
• Perform necessary cleaning and sanitation activities
• Monitor the filling process of finished products
• Perform final packaging for distribution
• Operate Bone Dumper machinery, including loading the Dumper and operating the Crane system
• Operate Pallet Jacks and Tow Motors as needed, if certified
• Assist with Pack-Off operations, including filling products into various containers and disposing of fat and mash
• Complete paperwork and documentation while following packaging and labeling requirements
• Create and apply product labels
• Measure and record temperatures, including tempered bone temperature
• Clean totes, the bone station, baskets, and operate the foamer
• Follow species-change procedures and required cleaning before, during, and after batches
• Set up and operate production and automated packaging equipment
• Maintain product segregation and lot/batch management
• Follow USDA policies, allergen compliance, safety standards, and company procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned and properly trained

Requirements

• Highschool Diploma or equivalent requirement
• 1+ year of manufacturing experience (food manufacturing preferred)
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
• Able to safely operate a tow motor
• Works in accordance with, and supports, company Standard Operating Procedures as outlined in the HACCP, SSOP and Quality manuals
• Reliable, dependable, with a “team player” orientation
• Willingness to be flexible on working hours, including weekends and holidays
• Willing to work overtime as needed
• Willingness to speak up and review problems with supervisor in order to determine best course of action, offering suggestions and providing clear communication of the problem
• Demonstrated verbal communication skills to be effective
• Ability to lift or carry 50 pounds
• Able to access all areas of the plant including confined spaces, the roof, and areas above equipment that require the use of a ladder
• Ability to operate cars, trucks, forklifts, and other powered equipment and tools
• Must be able to wear all PPE that is required
