Job summary

A leading poultry processing company in Laurel, MS, is seeking team members for various roles in product handling, including operating machines and packing products to strict standards. This role includes working in a noisy, wet environment and requires adherence to health regulations.

Qualifications

• Good personal hygiene and adherence to health codes and standards are required.

• Knowledge of SSOP and GMP.

Responsibilities

• Remove the bone from the thigh and operate a scale correctly.
• Operate the CVP Machine and stack finished products on pallets.
• Cover products with C02 or ice and line boxes with bags.
• Pack trays of chicken to company and customer standards.

Job description

• Remove the bone out of the thigh using wizard knife.
• (Weighing product) – Operating a scale, making weight, and depending on location placing a product label on the box that has just been weighed
• CVP Machine Operator
  • Operating a CVP Machine to seal the plastic bag the product is in
• Ice or C02 Layer
  • Covering the product with the correct amount of C02 or ice
• Stack Off
  • Palletizing finished product by stacking product in the correct configuration on a pallet
• Box Liner
  • Lining boxes with bags
• Tray Pack
  • Packing trays of chicken to company and customer standards

There are times when additional cutting or trimming is required. During this operation team members will be required to use either scissors or knives.

During any of the above task, constant focus and concentration is required to ensure tasks are performed in a way that promotes food safety and quality.

• Employees work alongside an automated line with either a mechanical conveyor or shackles
• Increased noise levels due to machinery

Requirements:

• Requires good personal hygiene and adherence to local, state, and federal health codes and standards
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Constant focus and concentration required to ensure a quality product is produced as well as to ensure safety is maintained from potentially hazardous conditions
