Job Summary

This role is responsible for routine maintenance and repair of the campus and facilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs semi-skilled technical tasks related to routine maintenance of facilities and outdoor structures
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance tasks
  • Conducts routine walk-through inspections of the facilities and outdoor structures
  • Assist in skilled trades repair and maintenance
  • Escorts contractors when professional services are necessary
  • Follows and references standard operating procedures
  • Uses hand and power tools for maintenance
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots issues
  • Completes work orders as assigned
  • Performs furniture, fixture, and equipment (FFE) transfers
Service Excellence
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
  • Works under the general supervision of the General Maintenance Supervisor

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • One (1) year of General Maintenance experience
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience with the operation of forklifts, bobcats and backhoes
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical skills
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships
  • Skilled using computerized applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
