Compensation Details: Starting Pay - $41,800

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm; Flexibility isrequired, as occasional weekend hours are necessary based ondepartment needs.

Job Summary

This role responds to staff requests for technology, equipment,support and supplies, performs minor repairs on equipment andassists with inventory. The position produces instructional andpromotional videos at the campus level using digital media andfunctions as a liaison to faculty, staff, and students withtechnology needs. The position troubleshoots and repairs technologyequipment, as well as installs, modifies, and makes minor repairsto microcomputer hardware and software systems and providestechnical assistance/training to system users.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements*
  • Completes scheduled technology setups; ensures equipment is ingood operating condition
  • Ensures correct software, firmware, and updates are done to theintegrated systems
  • Provides system testing and troubleshooting expertise on high-endA/V integrated control systems (i.e., Extron/Crestron)
  • Responds to emergency calls for assistance/Performsrepairs/adjustments on equipment
  • Responds to faculty and administrative requests for technologysupport; provides AV orientation to faculty and clients using thetechnology so they can utilize it effectively
  • Assists with maintaining inventory of all campus technologyequipment
  • Assists in the production of digital media classroominstructional materials and marketing videos for the campus as wellas maintenance of all associated documentation in thepre-production, production, and post-production stages of the videoprocess (i.e., familiar with Adobe CS6/Premier, etc.)
  • Assists with the installation and preparation of technology forevents
  • Assists with equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, andresearch
  • Responsible for maintaining the schedule of campus events relatedto technology
  • Assists the district Video Support team and the VideoConferencing team as needed
  • Inspects microcomputer equipment and reads order sheet listinguser requirements to prepare microcomputer for delivery
  • Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardwareand peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers,and disk drives on user's premises
  • Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, wordprocessing, or spreadsheet programs into computer
  • Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correctsystem operation
  • Instructs user in use of equipment, software, and manuals
  • Answers client's inquiries in person and via telephone concerningsystems operation
  • Diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems
  • Assists with scheduling requests for equipment and software forclassrooms

  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, andfollows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of theworksite
  • Completes all required training and professional developmentsessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)

  • Works under the general supervision of the assigned departmentleader

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED and three (3) years' workingexperience related to the Essential Performance Requirements, orany equivalent combination of education and work-relatedexperience. Required minimum education levels cannot be substitutewith work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree
  • At least one (1) year's working experience with Extron orCrestron integration systems
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Creston and Extron equipment
  • Knowledge of advanced computer graphics and computernetworking
  • Skilled in using and supporting microcomputers
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonalrelationships including strong listening, verbal, and writtencommunication
  • Skilled in using computerized platforms and applications, as wellas enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, andpresentation software
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicateproblems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work arevaried, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations basedon policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations whileexhibiting strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to proactively and independently align objectives,determining if supporting tasks are being completed accurately,timely, and advancing goals

While performing the duties ofthis job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanicalparts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. Thenoise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
