Job description

Technician, Fire Suppression (Licensed)

Location: Silverdale, Washington

Type: Non‑Exempt

Work Schedule: Full‑time

Compensation: $48.81 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, test, and maintain complex water‑based fire protection systems including AFFF deluge systems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on fire protection systems: AFFF deluge, low‑expansion foam, pre‑action, dry, water mist, water spray, pressure‑reducing valves, and fixtures.
  • Assist in adjustment, repair, or replacement of leaky joints, pipes, valves, and other equipment to maintain proper operation.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace support systems such as compressors, nitrogen generators, vacuum air systems, valves, and associated equipment.
  • Investigate and repair obstructions and impairments.
  • Apply NFPA and UFC code requirements during installations, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Perform maintenance on Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP) as needed.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain required tools and special equipment, including self‑propelled boom lifts.
  • Ensure all requirements are met as specified by manufacturers, including proper sizing, alignment, support, grading, and environmental protection.
  • Work may require call‑back availability based on operational needs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in fire protection technology or a related field (preferred).
  • NICET II certification required.
  • Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT) certification required within one year.
  • Backflow specialty plumber (PL30) preferred.
  • Knowledge of local fire codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Working knowledge of sprinkler controls, alarm panels, devices, and critical components.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow manufacturer technical manuals, lubrication instructions, and water schematics.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform physical demands for extended periods, including lifting or moving up to 50 pounds, reaching, kneeling, walking, standing, and using repetitive motion for several hours.
  • May require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking; standing or sitting for several hours; climbing in and out of a vehicle; and up and down stairs.
  • Must persevere under pressure for extended periods.
Requirements
  • Valid state driver’s license with ability to obtain and maintain Tessera’s insurance coverage.
  • Access to federal military installations requires a REALID‑compliant driver’s license, U.S. passport, or military ID; must obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E‑Verify will be conducted.
