Job Summary

Fire Protection Inspector responsible for performing NFPA-based inspections of water-based fire suppression systems and fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance and maintaining profitability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and troubleshooting on wet fire systems.
• Conduct inspections from man lifts at elevations of 30‑40 ft as required.
• Perform annual inspections for domestic and fire backflows.
• Monitor and ensure progress and completion of all assigned tasks.
• Complete and submit work tickets and inspection reports promptly.
• Self‑schedule daily inspections.
• Travel to customer sites as required.

Qualifications

• Licensed NICET LV1 (ITWBS) minimum.
• Sprinkler inspector with backflow license, minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience performing NFPA 25 inspections on wet, dry, deluge, pre‑action fire pumps, standpipe systems, and fire hydrants.
• Experience performing NFPA 72 inspections on fire alarm systems.
• High school diploma or GED required; vocational or trade school a plus.
• Knowledge of operational characteristics of wet, dry, foam, deluge, pre‑action, standpipe, fire hydrants, and fire pumps.
• Individual backflow license and NICET Level II in water‑based or fire alarm systems a plus.
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain required certifications including NICET.
• Able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.

Computer Skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
