Position Summary

The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves interpreting technical schematics, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Technician performs preventive maintenance, manages refrigerant handling, and supports operational efficiency through effective communication and teamwork. Additionally, the position includes leading field teams, coordinating service calls, and adhering to safety protocols while supporting business-critical needs across multiple locations.

What you'll do

• Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels, ensuring compliance with building codes and operational standards.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units, walk-ins, and HVAC systems to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
• Adhere to OSHA and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols during all service activities.
• Lead and mentor field teams, providing technical guidance and promoting safety practices.
• Manage service calls, coordinate with external providers, and maintain accurate documentation and inventory.
• Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.

What you'll bring

• Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels.
• Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and comply with building codes and HVAC/R regulations.
• Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial environments.
• Knowledge of EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols and OSHA safety standards.
• Experience leading and mentoring technicians and apprentices in technical and safety procedures.
• Strong communication skills to effectively explain technical issues and service outcomes to customers.
• Capability to manage service calls, use digital scheduling tools, and maintain accurate documentation.

Hourly wage range

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

• Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
• Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years. Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years. No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years. No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
