Qualifications

Position Summary...Role summary: The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves interpreting technical schematics, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Technician supports preventive maintenance programs, leads field teams, and communicates effectively with customers and management. Operating company vehicles and participating in on-call rotations are essential. This position requires adherence to established policies and standards while contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence within the facility services team. About the team: The Facility Services HVAC-Refrigeration team specializes in installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems, including rack refrigeration units. The team ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards while delivering reliable service across multiple locations. Members collaborate closely to troubleshoot technical issues, implement preventive maintenance, and support operational efficiency. Guided by experienced managers and training technicians, the team fosters skill development and effective communication to meet business priorities. They utilize digital tools for scheduling and resource management, maintaining high-quality service and customer satisfaction in a dynamic work environment.

What you'll do

• Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on rack systems, walk-ins, reach-ins, and supermarket refrigeration units.
• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R regulations and safety standards.
• Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.
• Manage service calls, coordinate with external providers, and maintain accurate documentation and inventory.
• Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.

What you'll bring

• Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
• Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration and compliance.
• Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Knowledge of EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols and OSHA safety standards.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring technicians on technical procedures and safety practices.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical information clearly to customers and team members.
• Proficient in using digital tools for scheduling, reporting, and inventory management.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to operate company vehicles safely.

Salary

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

• Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Option 2: 4 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
• Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program, Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)., Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located, Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams., Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
