Walmart in Texarkana, AR is seeking an experienced Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration to install, maintain and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial settings. You will read schematics, diagnose issues, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The team of 14 technicians works on preventive maintenance, mentoring, and continuous improvement, with on-site service calls and after-hours on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification and 2+ years of maintenance or construction experience for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Ability to read layouts, schematics, and building codes to verify compliant configurations.
• Experience diagnosing mechanical/electrical/refrigerant issues and implementing effective solutions.
• EPA 608 refrigerant handling certification and OSHA safety standards.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring technicians on procedures and safety.

The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves interpreting technical schematics, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Technician performs preventive maintenance, leads field teams, and communicates effectively with customers and management. Operating company vehicles and utilizing digital tools to manage service calls are essential. This position supports operational excellence by adhering to standards, mentoring peers, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within facility services.

The team consists of 14 skilled technicians dedicated to maintaining and repairing refrigeration and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance. They work collaboratively to provide preventive maintenance, prompt troubleshooting, and effective problem resolution. Team members apply expertise in HVAC controls, refrigerant management, and equipment repair while following safety and environmental standards. This group promotes a professional environment focused on continuous improvement, clear communication, and dependable service delivery to support facility operations and meet business objectives efficiently.

What you'll do:

• Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels, ensuring compliance with building codes and operational standards.

• Proficient in using digital tools for scheduling, inventory tracking, and reporting.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

• Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
• Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.

• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years. Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years. No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years. No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
