Job summary

Olivia Hospital & Clinic, part of HealthPartners, seeks an Environmental Services Technician for an on-call role in a hospital/clinic setting. You will maintain clean, safe surroundings by handling linens, supplies, and routine cleaning tasks across patient areas and common spaces.

The position requires reliability, ability to follow work orders, and flexibility to work varied hours including weekends. You'll join a team committed to health and safety standards and patient well-being.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Ability to follow assigned work orders.
• Ability to work a variety of scheduled hours including weekends and call-in hours.

Responsibilities

• Carry linens, towels, toiletry items, and cleaning supplies using wheeled carts.
• Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Sort, count linens, and store them in linen closets.
• Clean rooms, hallways, waiting areas, restrooms, corridors, locker rooms, and high touch areas to meet health standards.
• Dispose of trash or waste materials to appropriate disposal areas.
• Sweep, scrub, and vacuum floors using brooms, mops, and vacuums.
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork as necessary.
• Hang draperies and dust/wash window blinds as needed.
• Disinfect equipment, furniture, and supplies according to OHC standards.
• Move and arrange furniture and turn mattresses to effectively clean.
• Attend facility and department meetings as scheduled.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

ABOUT THE JOB

Environmental Services Technicians provide safe and sanitary surroundings for patients, employees, and the public in both hospital and clinic settings. Environmental Services Technicians must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, and moving of objects/materials. Environmental Services Technicians must also participate in the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, and/or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-Borne Pathogen Standard or Olivia Hospital & Clinic Exposure Control Plan for Blood-Borne Pathogens. This is a casual, on-call position, with no set hours per pay period.
