Job summary

Sunstate Equipment seeks a Technician Development Program Manager to lead strategy, design, and governance of technician development programs. You will set skill standards, progression paths, and validation processes to ensure highly capable technicians across regions.

The role partners with field leaders, training teams, OEMs, and recruitment partners to build scalable programs and drive consistent execution, with a travel requirement up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in technical training, workforce development, field service operations, or technician development.
• Experience designing and delivering instructor-led training programs.
• Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze performance data and translate findings into actionable development solutions.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Align DSDMs, operations leaders, and training partners around technician development priorities and standards.
• Establish and maintain technician skill standards, progression criteria, and validation requirements.
• Serve as the subject matter expert and authority on technician capability and advancement expectations.
• Drive consistency and accountability in technician development practices across all regions.
• Design, implement, and continually improve scalable technician development programs, learning pathways, and assessments.
• Identify technician performance gaps and develop solutions that improve capability, repair quality, and operational performance.
• Deliver instructor-led and hands-on technical training aligned to progression requirements and business needs.
• Partner with training teams to develop curriculum, learning tools, and practical training experiences.
• Ensure training content remains current with equipment, technology, and industry advancements.
• Monitor technician progression, program effectiveness, repair quality metrics, and development trends.
