Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services is seeking a Construction Equipment Technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on a full line of construction equipment in Texas. You will diagnose issues, follow OEM specifications, and interact with customers, vendors, and factory reps to ensure quality service.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in equipment repair, a valid CDL Class A, and strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years construction equipment repair experience.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain Class A CDL.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
  • Able to read OEM specifications and schematics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all levels of repair and preventive maintenance on a full line of construction equipment.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting for both minor and major repairs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors and factories.
  • Perform repairs within established labor time guides.
  • Achieve >90% efficiency rating while maintaining quality of workmanship.
  • Create detailed parts and labor repair scopes for quoting.
  • Read electrical and hydraulic schematics, technical blueprints, service and parts diagrams.
  • Be a self-starter, prioritize tasks, stay organized and work with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to work overtime and be on a rotating on‑call list.
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections on service trucks per DOT regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
