Ziegler Rental in Altoona, IA is hiring a full-time, experienced Technician to service compact construction equipment and allied equipment at our Altoona location. Hours: Mon-Fri, 7:00am-3:30pm. The pay range is $27.00 to $45.00 per hour, with starting wage depending on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or high school diploma/GED plus several years of shop experience.
• 2+ years of diesel equipment repair experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, electrical and fuel systems.
• Experience with Caterpillar equipment is a plus.
• Ability to document work orders and communicate with customers.
• Own mechanic tool set.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment including skid steers, compact wheel loaders, mini hydraulic excavators, multi terrain loaders, aerial lifts, tele-handlers.
• Assist in preparing new equipment for rent or sale.
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Work safely following company policies and standards.
• Collaborate with other technicians and assist in troubleshooting repairs.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $45.00

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant's location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment including skid steers, compact wheel loaders, mini hydraulic excavators, multi terrain loaders, aerial lifts, tele-handlers, among other light and medium construction equipment
• Assists in preparing new equipment for rent or sale
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or high school diploma/GED and several years of comparable shop mechanicexperience
• 2+ years of relevantdiesel equipment repair experience preferred
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, components, electrical, and fuel systems; working on Caterpillar is a plus but not required
• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems
• Own mechanic tool set
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test

Minimum Physical Requirements

• Push/pull up to 50 lbs
• Lift/carry up to 60 lbs
• Lift bulky objects
• Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping - able to use bolt box.
• Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
