Job summary

Musco is seeking a Technician Associate to join the Services Team. The role focuses on hands-on training in Musco’s systems, services, and field operations, performing field service and temporary lighting projects nationwide with extensive travel.

The position emphasizes safe operation of equipment, problem solving, and clear communication. Candidates should be solutions-focused and capable of working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent technical and problem solving ability.
• Basic electrical and mechanical aptitude is preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
• Strong personal initiative and ability to work with little supervision.
• Basic computer, email, and internet skills for receiving work instructions and job reporting.
• Ability to learn internal communication system.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate equipment at lighting projects (fork lifts, aerial lifts, etc.).
• Perform field service work in lifts and at heights.
• Learn Musco products and services for future roles.
• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspection of equipment/products.
• Coordinate project timeframes with customers, vendors, and resources.
• Maintain communication with Field Logistics Supervisor on duties and schedules.
• Provide detailed written field reports within one week of project.
• Work on Musco projects involving temporary lighting and product warranty tasks.
• Make sound daily expense-related decisions.

The Musco Services Team has an opening for a Technician Associate. If your experience aligns with the qualifications outlined below, we look forward to hearing from you!

This position provides hands‑on training in Musco’s systems, services, and field operations, helping team members build the knowledge and skills needed for future service‑related roles within the company. Responsibilities include the safe operation of equipment and the execution of field service and temporary lighting projects in accordance with project plans and timelines established by the Logistics Supervisor. Job is based out of Iowa, but extensive travel (220-240 days per year) is required throughout the U.S. and, at times, abroad. Some working days in Oskaloosa will be required.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Drive and operate different types of equipment at lighting projects, including, but not limited to fork lifts, aerial man lifts, all terrain forklifts, generators, non‑CDL vehicles and rental cars
• Perform field service work, which will require working in aerial lifts, climbing poles, or in catwalk access locations at heights
• Learn all different aspects of Musco products and services provided to lend toward future services roles
• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspection of equipment and products
• Coordinate time frames for projects with customers, vendors, equipment and people resources for assigned projects
• Maintain consistent communication with Field Logistics Supervisor regarding daily work duties and schedules
• Provide detailed written field reports and completion of required paperwork within one week of project or assignment of paperwork
• Work on crews on individually at Musco projects that could include, temporary lighting, warranty related efforts of Musco’s metal halide, LED or control‑link products
• Make solid daily expense related decisions
