Job summary

Sammons Warehouse Solutions in Texas is seeking a Technician II to keep customer material handling equipment safe, reliable, and ready to work. You'll diagnose issues, perform repairs, and return equipment to service at customer sites or in the shop.

We emphasize safety, ownership, and accountability, with on-call rotations as needed. The role requires 3+ years forklift repair, a high school diploma or GED, and willingness to travel and work in a shop environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of forklift repair or related industry experience.
  • A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; mechanical or trade school training and Hyster-Yale technician certifications are preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, along with experience using precision measuring instruments; welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
  • The ability to lift up to 75 pounds, furnish your own tools, travel to customer sites, work in a shop environment, and participate in a 24/7 on-call schedule as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment across gas, diesel, LP, and electric systems, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, steering, electrical, lifting systems, and other major components.
  • Troubleshoot problems and perform inspections to identify failures, safety concerns, and maintenance needs, completing rebuilds, repairs, basic welding, and preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Work safely and take care of the details by following proper blocking, chocking, and equipment-handling procedures; maintaining accurate service records, parts and supplies, and a safe, clean company vehicle.
  • Strengthen the team by completing required training and certifications, participating in safety meetings, supporting our Safety-First culture, and helping Service leadership bring great people onto the team.
