Job summary

Sammons Warehouse Solutions is seeking an equipment technician in the Austin, TX area to diagnose, repair, and maintain gas, diesel, propane, and electric systems across engines, hydraulics, and lifting equipment. You’ll perform inspections, troubleshooting, and basic welding while prioritizing safety and customer downtime.

The role emphasizes ownership, accurate service records, on-call availability, and the ability to travel to customer sites or work in a shop.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of equipment repair or related experience.
• High school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license; Hyster-Yale training and certifications are a plus.
• Customer-first mindset, strong communication skills, and knowledge of material handling equipment; certification on at least 65% of the applicable Equipment product line.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment across gas, diesel, propane, and electric systems, including engines, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, steering, electrical, and lifting systems.
• Troubleshoot failures, rebuild components, perform preventive maintenance, and handle basic welding or fabrication when needed.
• Prioritize safety by securing equipment, following repair practices, keeping the vehicle in good condition, and meeting OSHA/DOT/SitePro standards.
• Take ownership by maintaining service records, stocking needed parts, completing training and certifications, and supporting the team as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment across gas, diesel, propane, and electric systems, including engines, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, steering, electrical, and lifting systems.

• Solve problems from the ground up by performing inspections, troubleshooting failures, rebuilding components, completing preventive maintenance, and handling basic welding or fabrication when needed.

• Put safety first on every job by properly securing equipment, following safe repair practices, maintaining your company vehicle, and meeting OSHA, DOT, and SitePro safety standards.

• Take ownership of the work by keeping accurate service records, maintaining needed parts and supplies, completing technical training and certifications, and supporting the team wherever needed.

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years of equipment repair or related experience, strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with precision measuring instruments.

• A high school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license; mechanical/trade school training and Hyster-Yale technician certifications are preferred.

• A customer-first mindset, solid communication skills, and strong knowledge of material handling equipment; certification on at least 65% of the applicable Equipment product line.

• The ability to lift up to 75 pounds, furnish your own tools, travel to customer sites or work in a shop environment, and participate in an on-call schedule as needed.
