Job summary

Sammons Industrial, LLC in Texas is seeking a Service Technician I to diagnose, maintain, and repair material handling equipment. You will prioritize safety and quality while growing your technical skills across engines, hydraulics, brakes, and lifting systems.

You’ll perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic welding, document work on time, and participate in our Safety First culture. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license are required, plus forklift repair

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild material handling equipment including engines, motors, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, steering, electrical and lifting systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, failure analysis, and basic welding.
• Follow safety policies, secure equipment, maintain a clean work area and document work on time.

As a Service Technician I, you’ll diagnose, maintain, and repair material handling equipment while keeping safety and quality at the center of every job. What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild material handling equipment and its major systems, including engines, electric motors, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, steering, electrical, and lifting systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, failure analysis, and basic welding to keep equipment operating safely and according to manufacturer specifications.
• Put safety first on every job by properly securing equipment, following OSHA, DOT, and company requirements, maintaining a clean work area, and actively participating in our Safety First culture.
• Take care of our customers and your work by maintaining needed parts and supplies, completing service documentation on time, and continuing your technical training and certifications.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and at least 1 year of forklift repair or related mechanical experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and working knowledge of material handling equipment; certification on at least 50% of the company product line is expected.
• A customer-first mindset with clear communication skills, dependable follow-through, and a willingness to learn and grow.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 75 pounds, as well as participating in an on-call schedule as needed.
• Mechanical/trade school and Hyster-Yale technician certifications are preferred.
