Job summary

Sammons Industrial is seeking an experienced equipment technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment across gas, diesel, propane, and electric systems. You will perform inspections, troubleshoot failures, rebuild components, and carry out preventive maintenance in shop or on customer sites.

Safety comes first—adhere to OSHA and SitePro standards, keep detailed service records, manage parts and tools, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of equipment repair experience.
• High school diploma or GED; trades school training and certifications preferred.
• Customer-first mindset with strong communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, furnish own tools, travel to customer sites, and participate in on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment across gas, diesel, propane, and electric systems (engines, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, steering, electrical, lifting).
• Perform inspections, troubleshoot failures, rebuild components, complete preventive maintenance, and welding/fabrication when needed.
• Prioritize safety by securing equipment and following OSHA/DOT/SitePro standards; maintain vehicle and records.
• Take ownership: maintain parts, records, training, and support the team as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment across gas, diesel, propane, and electric systems, including engines, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, steering, electrical, and lifting systems.
• Solve problems from the ground up by performing inspections, troubleshooting failures, rebuilding components, completing preventive maintenance, and handling basic welding or fabrication when needed.
• Put safety first on every job by properly securing equipment, following safe repair practices, maintaining your company vehicle, and meeting OSHA, DOT, and SitePro safety standards.
• Take ownership of the work by keeping accurate service records, maintaining needed parts and supplies, completing technical training and certifications, and supporting the team wherever needed.

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years of equipment repair or related experience, strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with precision measuring instruments.
• A high school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license; mechanical/trade school training and Hyster-Yale technician certifications are preferred.
• A customer-first mindset, solid communication skills, and strong knowledge of material handling equipment; certification on at least 65% of the applicable Equipment product line.
• The ability to lift up to 75 pounds, furnish your own tools, travel to customer sites or work in a shop environment, and participate in an on-call schedule as needed.
