Job summary

Nordstrom Inc. is seeking a Tech 1 to serve as the first-line on-site IT resource for our distribution operations. You will resolve device and network issues, perform maintenance, install and replace hardware, and support site projects and rollouts with Operations and Facilities.

The role is Saturday-Monday 5:30 AM - 6 PM and requires a high school diploma and 0–1 year of tech support experience. Training provided; benefits include medical/vision, 401k, PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0–1 year of experience in service management, tech support, or troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of Windows, basic networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, Wi-Fi), and common peripherals
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment
• Preferred: 4-year degree or equivalent experience
• Preferred: distribution, warehouse, or industrial experience
• Preferred: familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools
• Preferred: exposure to RF scanners, wireless infrastructure or structured cabling
• Preferred: CompTIA A+/ Network+ or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and document it in the tracking tools
• Install, configure, and replace hardware, including device lifecycle swaps
• Run and tidy cabling, following cable management safety standards
• Partner with the other second-shift IT tech and hand off open tickets and notes to the day team at shift change
• Escalate issues beyond first-line scope to the right group with clear notes
• Keep tickets, asset records, and documentation current
• Support site projects, rollouts, and network changes, and coordinate with Operations and Facilities

Job description

Position Summary

The Tech 1 is the first-line on-site IT resource. They keep the technology that supports distribution operations running by resolving device and network issues, completing scheduled maintenance, and supporting larger projects.

Schedule: This position is Saturday-Monday 5:30 AM - 6 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Resolve incidents and service requests for end-user devices, scanners, printers, workstations, and wireless connectivity
• Perform preventative maintenance and document it in the tracking tools
• Install, configure, and replace hardware, including device lifecycle swaps
• Run and tidy cabling, following cable management safety standards
• Partner with the other second-shift IT tech and hand off open tickets and notes to the day team at shift change
• Escalate issues beyond first-line scope to the right group (Network Services Group, Hardware Asset Management, Core Infrastructure Group, Productivity Collaboration, Element Logic, Manhattan Active) with clear notes
• Keep tickets, asset records, and documentation current
• Support site projects, rollouts, and network changes, and coordinate with Operations and Facilities to minimize floor disruption

• Owns assigned tasks, prioritizes work, meets SLAs, and adheres to scheduled work times

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0-1 year of experience in service management, tech support, or troubleshooting and repairing technical equipment
• Working knowledge of Windows, basic networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, Wi-Fi), and common peripherals
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred

• 4-year degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
• Distribution, warehouse, or industrial experience
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools
• Exposure to RF scanners, wireless infrastructure, or structured cabling
• CompTIA A+ / Network+ or equivalent

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs; work in a warehouse environment, including on ladders and lifts
• Stand or walk for extended periods and work around conveyor and material handling equipment
• Occasional overtime or on-call coverage for maintenance windows and rollouts

Pay Range Details

• Technician 1: $19.25-$32.25 hourly , Technician 2: $18.25-$29.75 hourly
