We have an opportunity for the role of Technician I, Instruments within our Core Diagnostics division based out of Abbott Park, Illinois and this is an onsite role. As the Technician I, Instruments, you’ll have the chance to maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair measurement and test equipment, instrumentation, and control systems that support manufacturing, quality, and research operations. You’ll help ensure equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across the site.
Perform calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of measuring and test equipment (M&TE), instrumentation, and control systems following approved procedures. Support manufacturing, quality assurance, research and development, distribution, and utility operations by ensuring equipment performs within required specifications. Review, process, and complete calibration records, purchase orders, and work orders accurately and on time using maintenance management systems such as Maximo. Analyze equipment performance data and apply corrective actions to improve reliability, accuracy, and compliance. Assist with the development and validation of calibration methods, operating procedures, and newly installed equipment. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, control programs, and manufacturer documentation to diagnose equipment issues. Partner with cross‑functional teams to investigate equipment‑related problems and recommend effective technical solutions. Support installation, startup, and validation activities for instrumentation and automated calibration systems. Ensure compliance with GMP, GLP, safety, and quality requirements in daily activities. Maintain accurate documentation and provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing as needed.

The base pay for this position is $28.25 – $56.55/hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
