Job summary

Aggreko in Lemont, IL is seeking a Technician 1 Air Compressor to maintain and repair oil-free air systems and related equipment. You will work at the Lemont service center and support customers with on-site and occasional travel as needed.

This role requires hands-on experience with power generators, electrical distribution equipment, and reading schematics. Overtime and weekend work are common, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of experience with power generators, inspections, maintenance and repairs.
• Experience reading schematics and calculating nominal/effective kW.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to move or lift objects up to 75 lbs.

What you’ll do:

• You’ll be based out of our Lemont, IL service center.
• You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of electrical distribution equipment, and/or oil free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and occasionally on customer locations and handle the repairs.

You are:

• High School diploma/GED
• 4+ years of experience working on power generators, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

• Willingness to work offshore on an on-call schedule basis to respond to our customers.
• Must be able to stand,walkand sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrainwith functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that willpermitwork to be safely performed from ground / floor level tofull overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items,functional hand-eye coordination, andfunctionally grip with adequate strength to safelyhold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
