Job summary

Aggreko plc is seeking a Technician 1 based in Bridgeport, NJ to support power generation and HVAC systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair equipment at the shop or on customer sites, with possible travel and weekend overtime.

We value a High School diploma or GED and 4+ years of generator/maintenance experience, along with the ability to read schematics and handle lifting tasks up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of experience working on power generators, inspections, maintenance and repairs.
• Experience calculating nominal and effective kW requirements; able to read schematics.
• May be required to obtain/maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to move or lift objects up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Based at Bridgeport, NJ service center.
• Work overtime and weekends; potential travel.

What you’ll do:

• You’ll be based out of our Bridgeport,NJ service center.
• You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and occasionally on customer locations and handle the repairs.

You are:

• High School diploma/GED
• 4+ years of experience working on power generators, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

• Must be able to stand,walkand sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrainwith functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that willpermitwork to be safely performed from ground / floor level tofull overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items,functional hand-eye coordination, andfunctionally grip with adequate strength to safelyhold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
