Job summary

Aggreko plc is seeking a Technician 1 – Power, HVAC, or Temperature Control based in Mobile, AL. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on generators, HVAC, and related systems, at the Mobile service center and on customer sites.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and 3+ years of hands-on experience with power generation or temperature control equipment. A valid driver's license is required, with possible travel and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working on power generators, HVAC, or temperature control equipment.
• Ability to read schematics and calculate nominal/actual tonnage or kW requirements.
• Valid driver’s license; may require TWIC or DOT medical card in some cases.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution, HVAC, or oil-free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at shop and customer sites.
• Work solo or with others to set up/operate equipment at shop and on customer sites.

What you’ll do:

• Be based out of our Mobile, AL service center, with the opportunity to work overtime and weekends and potential for travel.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and/or oil free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs.
• Work either on your own or teamed up with another technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at the shop and on customer sites.

You are:

• A High School diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience working on power generators, HVAC, or temperature control equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and understanding schematics.
• A valid driver’s license; depending on customer requirements, you may also be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or a valid DOT medical card.
• The ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75lbs.

• Must be able to stand,walkand sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrainwith functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that willpermitwork to be safely performed from ground / floor level tofull overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items,functional hand-eye coordination, andfunctionally grip with adequate strength to safelyhold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
