Job summary

Merlin Entertainments seeks a Facilities Technician for LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia to maintain and repair attraction systems, HVAC, electrical, and exhibit components. You will troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance to ensure peak guest experiences and safe operations.

The role requires hands-on skills, reliability, and flexibility with weekend availability. Responsibilities include setting up data cables, handling lighting and exhibit hardware, and coordinating with teams

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • At least two years of maintenance experience preferred.
  • At least two years of service industry experience in a technical/themed environment including automation, hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical/electronics, and networks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot attraction areas including HVAC, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems.
  • Tackle problems to sustain minimal downtime for maximum guest experience.
  • Set up and install data cables and repair computer outlets and bundles.
  • Monitor and maintain building systems and report safety hazards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks and repairs as assigned.

Facilities Technician - LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia
What You'll Do
  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all areas of the attraction including HVAC, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems as well as themed attractions.
  • Apply hands-on knowledge and experience to tackle problems to sustain minimal downtime of themed attractions for the maximum guest experience.
  • Position functions will include but not limited to custodial duties, re-lamping & lighting systems, painting and wall repair, tech equipment, shipping and receiving as well as exhibit setup and takedown. Maintaining and troubleshooting Audio Visual equipment for both old and new exhibits.
  • Install and/or replace light bulbs, projector lamps, doors, etc.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain attraction systems, rides, and equipment.
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, or replace control devices.
  • Complete “Preventative Maintenance” tasks (Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, etc.).
  • Repair and/or paint interior walls, hang pictures; assemble furniture.
  • Set-up and install data cables as needed; install and repair computer outlets and computer bundles.
  • Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned. Corrects or reports any safety or fire hazards.
  • Observes safe working practices, including maintaining storage areas clean, organized and in safe condition.
  • Able to set-up and operate various hand tools and power equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience

  • At least two years of service industry experience in a technical/themed environment to include animation, automation, hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical/electronics, and networks.
  • Experience of maintaining flexibility and the highest level of service.
  • Flexible scheduling availability (weekend availability required)
