Role: Technical Writer

Location: Remote (Must be available to work EST hours)

Position Overview:

The Technical Writer will provide expertise in quality control, quality assurance review, and technical security documentation. The ideal candidate is familiar with system security assessments, NIST SP 800-53 controls, and has a strong background in technical writing within the cybersecurity space. Responsibilities include executing data entry into databases and applications, developing and maintaining complex schedules and project plans, generating reports, and supporting analysis of existing agency policies to develop technical security policies, processes, and plans.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide expertise in quality control, quality assurance review, and technical security documentation.
• Execute data entry, develop and maintain project schedules, generate reports, and support policy analysis and development.
• Plan, write, edit, and revise technical documents such as user manuals, overviews, configuration/installation instructions, tutorials, test plans, and product specifications.
• Collaborate with technical writers and facilitate communication with product and software development teams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• US Citizenship Required - Must have or be eligible to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Ability to simplify complex documentation for end-users.
• Experience evaluating user feedback to improve documentation usability.
• Knowledge of technical writing standards and accessibility standards.
• Familiarity with RMF and applying the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
