Job summary

Saab West Lafayette, IN is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team manufacturing the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk for the United States Air Force. You will serve as local SME for technical writing, guide inspectors, and handle NCRs, FAIs, MRB dispositions, and control plans.

The ideal candidate has an AS in Quality, Technical Writing or related STEM or 3 years in a manufacturing quality role, with strong written and verbal communication and familiarity with ISO9001/AS9100 or IATF16949.

Qualifications

• AS Degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM discipline or 3 years in a manufacturing quality role.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operation is required.
• Familiarity with electro-mechanical assembly documentation and ability to revise work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as local SME for technical writing and provide guidance for inspectors across shifts.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Create and maintain NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions.
• Develop best practices for technical writing and ensure compliance with customer/industry standards.
• Act as the primary contact in non-conformance investigations and material assessments.
