Position Summary
We are seeking a Technical Writer II to join a leading semiconductor manufacturing company in Tualatin, OR. In this role, you will develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing work instructions and technical documentation that support the assembly and testing of complex systems. You'll collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, and support teams to ensure documentation is accurate, compliant, and easy to follow while driving continuous process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and maintain manufacturing work instructions and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Support teams to capture processes for new builds, engineering updates, and work stoppages.
- Develop documentation for manufacturing assembly and testing while meeting customer and quality requirements.
- Conduct work instruction audits by training and guiding manufacturing technicians.
- Interpret schematics, 3D models, engineering drawings, layouts, and written/verbal instructions to improve documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and project execution.
- Review and implement documentation updates resulting from manufacturing escalations.
- Ensure all documentation complies with engineering, quality, and company standards.
- Translate technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree with 2+ years of related experience, or an advanced degree with no experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 0–3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting complex systems.
- Experience creating or maintaining technical documentation or work instructions.
- Ability to interpret engineering schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to audit documentation for compliance with engineering requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for documentation systems and workflow processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with manufacturing methods, hardware specifications, quality systems, and product development.
- Understanding of assembly and production processes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety and quality standards.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to present technical information clearly to cross-functional teams.
