Job summary

Horizontal is seeking a Technical Writer to join our manufacturing operations team on a contract basis. The role involves researching, writing, and publishing documentation that clarifies complex production and service processes.

Qualifications

• 6 to 7 years of technical writing experience, ideally in manufacturing procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in writing and editing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience using Oxygen XML Editor, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe tools such as Photoshop and Acrobat.
• Ability to capture and improve digital photographs for documentation use.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

• Familiarity with Dozuki, Articulate, Slack, CATIA, JIRA, Confluence, document management tools, or PLM systems
• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, automotive, or sensor hardware
• Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and operational teams
• Interest in building documentation that improves training, serviceability, and operational excellence
