Job summary

Vermeer seeks a Technical Documentation Specialist to develop machine-specific service manuals. You will collaborate with engineering, service, and product safety teams to craft clear, accurate content and illustrations for hardware across Vermeer products.

You will revise existing manuals, create new content for small models, and research vendor specs for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with CAD software is required.
• Proficiency with MS Office is required.
• Experience with Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator and Photoshop is required.
• Mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering, service, product safety, and subject matter experts to develop machine-specific content for service manuals.

• Complete one or more projects with narrow scope.
• Create content-related illustrations using 2D/3D graphics, photos, and drawings from solid models.
• Research vendor information for specifications, troubleshooting, and repair procedures for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components.
• Submit drafts and work with reviewers to finalize copy for publishing.

Create content-related illustrations using 2D/3D graphical programs, digital photographs, and drawings or diagrams from solid models.5. Research vendor information for specifications, troubleshooting, and repair procedures related to mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical components.6. Submit draft(s) and collaborate with reviewers (engineering, service, product safety/legal, technical editor) to create a final copy for publishing.What We’re Looking For- Bachelors degree in a technical field such as industrial design, graphic design, or related field; and/or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience required.- Ability to use MS Office required.- Experience with Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator and Photoshop or similar software required.- Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Design) software required.- Mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical experience preferred.Travel- Occasional travel is expected of this position.Work LocationHYBRID: Some of a team member’s day-to-day work may be best done at a location other than a Vermeer campus.
