Job summary

Vermeer is seeking a detail-oriented assembler on the First Shift in Griswold, CT. You will follow digital instructions to assemble equipment and subassemblies, align parts, test movement, apply decals, and ensure the finished product meets quality standards.

Work with a team to build machines for customers worldwide, supporting 5S practices and continuous improvement while learning Vermeer assembly training and contributing to on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Ability to complete Vermeer Assembly Training.
• Ability to complete a specified number of tasks in a certain amount of time repeatedly.
• Ability to consistently meet quality expectations.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Follow provided job instructions to assemble equipment and subassemblies for attachment to equipment per Vermeer\'s quality standards.
• Align components and bolts then fasten them according to torque specifications, install moving parts and test to ensure parts move as intended.
• Inspect painted parts to ensure quality.
• Apply decals, company logos, safety warning notices and other items to the finished product.
• May also attach doors, panels and other machine guarding.
• Calculate figures and apply basic mathematical functions including fractions and decimals.
• Support 5S/workplace organization goals of the department and offers suggestions and makes improvements that assist in achieving the department’s performance board metrics.
