Job summary

University of Texas at Austin seeks a Technical Writer/Editor II to write, maintain, and prepare technical documents for high frequency active sonar systems at the Pickle Research Campus. You will support multiple projects, edit materials, and manage documentation workflows with GitLab in an ATL setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in English or technical writing and at least two years of experience, with strong organizational and analytical abilities. On-site at Pickle Research Campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, technical writing, or similar field.
• At least two years of professional or technical writing/editing experience.
• Strong organizational skills and focus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Able to work under pressure and accept supervision.
• Ability to work independently as well as with peers, clients, and management.

Responsibilities

• Writes, maintains, and prepares technical documents in HTML, PDF, and Word.
• Participates in testing and verification of sonar components.
• Peer editing and publishing processes.
• Manages revision control practices and tools.
• Supports IT resources and internal documentation.
• Provides photography and videography support for the team.
• Other related functions as assigned.
