Job summary

HII - Mission Technologies seeks a Technical Writer to support a Modeling, Simulation, and Training team at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center, Nellis, NV. The writer will collect, organize, and transform technical information into formal documentation used by government and contractor personnel for engineering, cyber, networking, A/V, and simulation teams.

The role requires producing documentation that is accurate, consistent, fully traceable, and suitable for internal technical use,

Qualifications

• 6 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
• Experience producing technical documentation in a structured environment.
• Ability to write system engineering reports, software development reports, manuals, presentations, etc. to include design, development, and test/user documentation.
• Ability to define manageable CM processes (check-out/check-in, build, release, etc.) and implement them.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Excel, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are required.
• Must have had an active Top Secret clearance within the last 24 months.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance, with supporting SAP/SPR clearances.
• Work Environment: Position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Responsibilities

• Data Collection: Engage with engineers, developers, system administrators, and operators to collect accurate technical information.
• Observe system operations, integration activities, troubleshooting sessions, and technical demonstrations to record detailed data.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of assigned systems to ensure documentation reflects actual operational behavior.
• Conduct interviews with subject matter experts to extract procedural and technical details.
