Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Technical Writer at TINKER AFB, OK to support the Air Force AWACS Division. The role requires converting complex technical concepts into clear documentation, maintaining document standards, and coordinating with engineers and program managers.

This is a full‑time, hybrid position with a SECRET clearance requirement. Responsibilities include creating manuals, user guides, procedures, and training materials, while ensuring accuracy, version control, and consistent formatting

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.
• Active Secret clearance required and must be maintainable.
• Experience writing DoD/aircraft/defense-related technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare original technical papers, manuals, policies, specifications, and reports.
• Write and edit user documentation, how‑to guides, and training materials.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user‑friendly content for specific audiences.
• Ensure documents meet agency style, formatting, and accuracy standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, program managers, vendors, and customer reps to define technical specs.
• Maintain an electronic library of signed documents and final presentations.
