Job summary

POWERX Edge is seeking a Technical Writer to create clear and comprehensive documentation supporting our power infrastructure products and services. You will work with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to develop commissioning scripts, reports, user manuals, installation guides, and specifications.

You will ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of technical content, contribute to templates and style guides, and manage documentation in a central repository while coordinating

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communication, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and write commissioning scripts for all levels of commissioning.
  • Develop, prepare, and/or review final commissioning reports.
  • Develop and write clear, concise technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, technical specifications, and release notes.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and easy to understand for the intended audience.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather technical information and understand product functionality.
  • Coordinate with team members to establish timelines of deliverables based on schedule requirements.

Job Summary:

The Technical Writer is responsible for creating clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation to support the company’s products and services. This role involves working closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop commissioning scripts, commissioning reports, user manuals, installation guides, technical specifications, and other documentation. The position plays a critical role in ensuring that technical information is accurately communicated to customers as well as internal users, enhancing their understanding and effective use of the company’s products.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Technical Documentation

  • Develop and write commissioning scripts for all levels of commissioning.
  • Develop, prepare, and/or review of final commissioning reports.
  • Develop and create load bank plans for projects as required.
  • Develop and write clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, technical specifications, and release notes.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and easy to understand for the intended audience.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, project executives, and other stakeholders to gather technical information and understand product functionality.
  • Participate in project meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate with team members to establish timelines of deliverables based on schedule requirements.

Content Development

  • Create and maintain templates and style guides for technical documentation to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Organize and present technical information in a logical and user-friendly manner.
  • Work with AI programs in the development of scripts.

Review and Editing

  • Review and edit technical documentation produced by other team members to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Conduct peer reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve the quality of documentation.

Content Management

  • Manage and maintain a central repository for all technical documentation, ensuring easy access and version control.
  • Ensure documentation is regularly updated to reflect changes in product features, functionality, and requirements.

Additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support the organization’s goals and adapt to evolving business needs.

Attributes/Abilities:

  • Must have a satisfactory background check.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communication, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing or related field.

Physical Requirements:

  • This is an office desk position with no significant physical exertion required.
