Job summary

POWERX is seeking an IT Support Specialist to maintain and secure our IT infrastructure, focusing on Microsoft 365 environments, cloud platforms, and end-user support. You will help implement new technologies, document processes, and educate staff with practical training materials.

Responsibilities include managing cloud services, developing SOPs, and collaborating across teams to enhance IT standards while supporting hardware and cybersecurity initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (IT/CS) or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of related IT support experience.
  • Experience managing Microsoft 365 Admin Center and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
  • Experience migrating or integrating systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize Microsoft 365 tenant and cloud infrastructure.
  • Handle end-user IT support and incident resolution.
  • Develop SOPs, training materials, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement security configurations and software integrations.
  • Support hardware troubleshooting and basic repairs on PCs and network devices.
  • Create and update training content using Loom, Scribe, or Camtasia.

Job Summary:

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company’s information technology infrastructure to ensure efficient and secure operations. This role involves executing day-to-day technical tasks, providing end-user support, and assisting in the implementation and administration of IT systems and services. The IT Support Specialist will support Microsoft 365 environments, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and software systems, and contribute to the integration of new technologies. Additionally, the role includes maintaining documentation, developing training materials, and collaborating with internal teams to uphold IT standards and enhance operational effectiveness across the organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
Network Management
  • Administer and optimize the company’s Microsoft 365 tenant and other cloud-based infrastructures.
  • Oversee licensing, feature rollouts, and automate tasks using PowerShell or Graph API.
  • Develop and maintain clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Collaboration and Communication
  • Champion operational excellence and support.
  • Customer service-orientated mindset.
  • Serve as Tier 3 escalation, mentor the service desk, and streamline joiner/mover/leaver workflows to cut manual effort.
  • Track M365 roadmap items, plan phased releases, and report KPI-driven insights to leadership.
IT Administration Support
  • Perform the department’s administrative tasks, including vendor and license management.
  • Support software integration efforts and assist with security configurations.
Hardware Support
  • Troubleshoot and support PC and network hardware, including setup, maintenance, and minor repairs.
Training Development
  • Create and update interactive training materials, including instructional guides and videos, using basic image and video editing software.
  • Use basic multimedia tools (e.g., Loom, Scribe, and Camtasia) to support user training and onboarding.

Additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support the organization's goals and adapt to evolving business needs.

Attributes/Abilities:
  • Must have a satisfactory background check.
  • Experience in all aspects of the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
  • Extensive knowledge of Cloud based infrastructures, including storage and hosting solutions like AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficiency with PC and network hardware installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Thorough technical knowledge of networks, personal computers, telephone systems, software integration, and cyber-security.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while providing prompt customer service.
  • Basic skills in image and video editing for the creation of interactive training content (experience with tools such as Loom, Scribe, Camtasia, or similar).
  • Proficiency in sourcing and selecting the best solutions for computing hardware, software, and related services.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work effectively across departments.
Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science or Information Technology) or Associate’s degree in Network Administration and/or Computer Programming or equivalent education/experience preferred.
  • Experience migration or integration project environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • This is an office desk position with no significant physical exertion required.
  • May be required to life up to 15 pounds.
