Job summary

Focus in Smyrna, TN seeks a bilingual Interpreter/Technical Translator to bridge English and Mandarin in cross-functional engineering teams. You translate technical documents, attend meetings, and ensure accurate communication across Process Engineering, Global Engineering Center, Quality, Operations, and Manufacturing.

Ideal candidates have Mandarin and English fluency, a technical or engineering background, confidentiality, and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Mandarin and English with clear translation and interpretation skills for written and oral communication.
• Technical or engineering background/knowledge preferred.

About the Role

As a member of our team, you will play an important role in advancing our mission to lead in sustainable technology solutions. Reporting to the Project Director, you will work cross-functionally across engineering teams, providing technical translation and interpretation in meetings and documentation between English and Mandarin Chinese.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpreting & Communication: Attend meetings to facilitate clear communication between Chinese-speaking and US-based engineers across Process Engineering, Global Engineering Center, Quality, Operations, and Manufacturing teams.

• Industry Terminology: Maintain a clear understanding of technical terminologies within the manufacturing industry.

• Technical Translation: Translate technical documents, reports, manuals, specifications, and CAD drawings for engineering and maintenance teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Language Proficiency: Fluent in Mandarin and English, with demonstrated skill in clear, accurate translation and interpretation for both written and oral communication.

• Technical Background: Technical or engineering background/knowledge preferred.

• Professional Integrity: Strong ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

• Software Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
