Job summary

BMW Group in Schaumburg, IL, is seeking a Technical Training Leader to supervise and coach training staff and ensure high-quality technical and non-technical courses for the BMW Dealer and CCRC network.

The role includes coaching STEP instructors, verifying certification levels, and maintaining regional training center equipment. A relevant engineering background and industry certifications are required, with relocation considered.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in automotive technology or post-secondary certificate.
• ASE Master Technician or I-CAR Platinum Level.
• BMW AG L1/L2 trainer certification.
• Blitz 2 Certification for e-Mobility vehicles.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering accepted in lieu of education requirements.
• With an associate’s degree, 9+ years in BMW Master Tech, Senior Instructor, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, develop, monitor and coach instructional staff to deliver high level BMW Group training.
• Ensure relevance of Technical, B&P courses and non-technical courses for Dealers and CCRC network.
• Provide coaching and supervision for BMW Group STEP program instructors and candidates.
• Monitor compliance of instructor certification levels and verify curriculum taught.
• Maintain and update BMW Group diagnostic equipment at regional training centers.

• Supervise, develop, monitor and coach instructional staff to deliver high level BMW Group technical/non-technical training.
• Ensure relevance of all Technical, B&P courses and non-technical courses within the technical training course offerings to Dealers, CCRC network in the area of improving skills and course development.
• Provide coaching and supervision for BMW Group STEP program(s) training instructors and qualified entry level candidates
• Monitor compliance of instructor certification levels and verify levels of curriculum taught
• Maintain and update BMW Group diagnosis equipment at regional training centers

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING.

• Associate’s degree in automotive technology or post-secondary certificate
• ASE Master Technician or I-CAR Platinum Level
• BMW AG L1, L2 trainer certification
• Blitz 2 Certification for e-Mobility vehicles
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering in lieu of the above education requirements
• With associate’s degree, an additional 9+ years are required in any of the following fields:
  • BMW Master Tech, or OEM equivalent
  • BMW Senior Instructor
  • Automotive Technical Instructor
  • ASE Master Technician
  • OEM or Aftermarket automotive product/service engineering
  • Preferred:
    • OEM High voltage certification
    • Shop foreman or Team leader
    • BMW STEP graduate
    • ASE L1

Relocation is available for this position.

The expected salary range for this position is $57,100.00 - $114,200.00.

The selected candidate’s education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
