Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc, a leader in sustainable packaging, seeks a Technical Trainer to drive floor-based training and certification for operators. You will partner with OPS L&D to onboard new hires, track progress, and create technical learning materials.

The role involves hiring input, multi-shift training, and promoting safety-minded practices across the site. You will certify teammates through a Train the Trainer process and collaborate with Ops L&D for tools and content, taking on additional

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience conducting/leading training in manufacturing preferred.
• 2–4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred.
• Microsoft Office experience (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint/Forms) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily technical training on the floor to assist with certification of team members.
• Partners with OPS L&D leader to support New Hire Orientation/Onboarding Training as needed.
• Tracks, evaluates, and measures training locally using the company’s Dept. Training system.
• Supports site-specific technical learning solutions (SOPs, Guided Workflows, Learning Aids).
• Develops, builds, and maintains relationships with trainees and leaders.
• Participates in new teammate hiring process by assessing candidates’ skills and industrial experience.
