Job summary

CoorsTek is seeking a Technical Trainer to drive growth through hands-on training for our operations team at our Oak Ridge facility. You will partner with plant leadership and global learning to design, deliver, and evaluate programs that enhance technical and process knowledge.

Responsibilities include developing materials for products, processes, and technologies; coordinating on-the-floor and classroom training; and mentoring employees to support career growth within manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop, conduct, and evaluate training programs on location products, processes and technologies.
• Schedule, conduct, and record training for production employees to ensure compliance.
• Assess training needs and update materials as needed.
• Deliver ILT, one-on-one, and SOJT training on the production floor or online.
• Coach trainees and administer assessments related to training milestones.
• Ensure training content consistency and quality across a course life cycle.
• Manage the training program in alignment with regulatory requirements and QMS.
• Assist and perform in all areas as assigned.

Job Title

Technical Trainer

This position is responsible for the growth and development of our operations team. In partnership with the plant leadership and global learning, this position will develop, conduct, and evaluate training programs in support of our manufacturing capabilities that drive growth for CoorsTek. The Technical Trainer will use their skills and subject matter expertise to deliver hands-on training to serve a diverse population of both new hires and existing employees. This position will be immersed in supporting our new hires in the technical training aspects of their new roles and partner with other SMEs to ensure a holistic approach to training. This could include learning new skillsets to support all our processes. The Technical Trainer will be a member of CoorsTek Academy faculty to help create an exceptional employee experience, contribute to accomplishing the operational metrics and create opportunities for our operators to learn and grow as a part of our overall growth strategy.

• Responsible for development and delivery of training materials on location products, processes and technologies so as to ensure that team members develop, maintain, and increase their own technical and/or process knowledge.
• Manage progression training process to keep employees on track for growth within their manufacturing career path. See remark above.
• Under supervision, schedules, conducts, and records completed training for production employees to ensure compliance with established internal and external standards.
• Assesses training needs and certification requirements, makes suggestions for updates to current materials as needed.
• Presents training materials to targeted personnel in a classroom setting on the production floor or via computer based online training; assesses effectiveness through follow-up and knowledge testing.
• Guides employees where needed and required through training tools (e.g., workday) and explains job aids and captures feedback of employees.
• Coach’s trainees and provides feedback relative to their performance. Administers assessments as needed in relation to training milestones.
• Provides feedback regarding the quality and consistency of course content throughout a course life cycle
• Manages the training program in accordance with business needs, regulatory requirements, and Quality Management System
• Ensuring that employees are introduced into the working environment effectively.
• Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate training plans, curricula, and methodology.
• Is instrumental in developing training and learning mindset amongst employees.
• The scope and number of these positions will be determined upon the size of population of a particular facility, the complexity surrounding the facilities shifts, hiring volumes, workforce planning requirements (e.g. attrition, skill gaps and CORE related matters).
• Assists and/or performs in all areas as assigned.
• May work any and all shifts/days as required

Job Requirements:

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• 3 years related work experience

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must have demonstrated proficiency with CoorsTek related processes, systems, and a functional knowledge of CORE.
• Moderate to advanced proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office and Outlook required
• Knowledge of ceramic manufacturing processes, products and materials preferred
• Demonstrated leadership and coaching/mentoring ability
• Exhibits strong interpersonal and organizational skills, great attention to detail as well as excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds

Position Specific Title and Responsibilities

• Coordinates or performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs
• Deliver classroom Instructor Led Training (ILT), one-on-one, and Structured On-the Job Training (SOJT)

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

Target Hiring Range

Annual Salary: USD 59,507.00 - USD 78,549.00
