The role is a player-coach position requiring a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and proven leadership. Strong C++ and Linux skills are essential, along with CMOSS/CMFF familiarity.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years related experience.
• Minimum two years managing people.
• Strong hands‑on background in software development with C++ and Linux.
• Familiarity with CMOSS Mounted Form Factor (CMFF) and open architecture standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team while driving end-to-end design, architecture, development, integration, and testing of software components for the new open systems architecture‑aligned capability.
• Apply modern software engineering methodologies (Agile/DevSecOps) and ensure compliance with modular open systems standards.
• Directly manage a team of software engineers and technical contributors, fostering a collaborative, high‑performing culture.
• Drive Capability Development for the new vertical product, enabling rapid integration and plug‑and‑play functionality in mounted platforms.

Akkodis is seeking a Technical Team Lead job with a client in Rochester NY. Must hold a Bachelor’s degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field to be considered. You will lead the design and development of a new vertical product capability. You will also drive software engineering efforts and serve as the primary technical lead for delivering modular, open-architecture capabilities aligned with open systems architecture.

This is a player-coach role where you will drive software engineering efforts and serve as the primary technical lead for delivering modular, open-architecture capabilities aligned with open systems architecture.

Salary Range: $100k. to $135/k. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Technical Team Lead responsibilities include:

• Lead a small team while personally driving the end-to-end design, architecture, development, integration, and testing of software components for the new open systems architecture-aligned capability.
• Apply modern software engineering methodologies (Agile/DevSecOps preferred) and ensure compliance with modular open systems standards (CMOSS/CMFF) through both hands‑on contributions and technical guidance.
• Directly manage a team of software engineers and technical contributors. Foster a collaborative, high‑performance culture in a small‑company environment.
• Drive Capability Development for the new vertical product, enabling rapid integration and plug‑and‑play functionality in mounted platforms.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Minimum Five years related experience.
• Minimum Two years managing people
• Strong hands‑on background in software development including expert proficiency in C++ and Linux. Proven experience applying technical coding/engineering methodologies in complex systems.
• Familiarity with or ability to quickly ramp up on CMOSS Mounted Form Factor (CMFF), open architecture standards, and C5ISR/EW capabilities
