Description

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Technical Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, programming, system start-up/check-out, certification, and related customer training on assigned systems. You will deliver projects effectively within budgeted cost and time schedules. This role acts as a key interface for technical support with the customer, maximizing customer satisfaction. What You’ll Do
  • Participate in our Recruit Awesome People program to help grow Convergint by promoting our colleague-first culture and referring top talent.
  • Install, program, test, repair, and service various non-routine security systems and equipment. Serve as a key technical support and training interface for customers, ensuring maximum satisfaction.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications to determine installation procedures. Interpret manuals and diagrams, and repair equipment using electronics knowledge and standard tools.
  • Perform work in compliance with provincial and local regulations, best practices, and safety policies.
  • Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions. Write non-routine programs for systems.
  • Consult with supervisors to resolve system operation issues, maintenance, and warranty work.
  • Advise supervisors on customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques, and suggest product improvements.
  • Manage multiple projects involving programming, graphics development, start-up, certification, customer training, documentation, and ongoing support.
  • Identify project risks, communicate with relevant parties, and help develop strategies to minimize impact and control costs and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with project managers and supervisors, recommending improvements and scope changes to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Mentor less experienced staff, supervise testing and tuning of equipment for optimal performance.
  • Always act as “our customer’s best service provider” to ensure Convergint remains the first choice for service.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve overall operations and stay informed on company policies.
  • Perform other duties as required.
What You’ll Need
  • Strong customer focus and ability to work under pressure, proactively meeting customer needs.
  • Solid technical skills and experience with electronic security systems.
  • Proven programming skills and troubleshooting ability.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and relevant applications.
  • Data management and spreadsheet skills.
  • Networking skills.
  • Knowledge of physical security and door hardware.
  • Understanding relay logic.
